Lighting layouts & lux calculations
We design and install energy-efficient LED lighting to suit your workspace, desk layouts and room use — from open-plan areas to meeting rooms and circulation spaces.
We can issue lighting layout drawings with calculated lux levels based on how each part of the building will be used and the design assumptions.

UGR, controls and the completed lighting design
Low-glare office lighting requires more than selecting a fitting labelled UGR. Where a UGR requirement is specified, the room geometry, surfaces, luminaire arrangement and viewing positions need to be considered together.
Lighting drawings and calculations are developed from the information available. Changes to partitions, furniture, finishes or the intended room use can affect the assumptions and should be raised before installation.
Occupancy sensing, daylight controls and zoning can be included where suitable. We explain the proposed operation and consider maintenance access. Emergency lighting is assessed separately alongside changes to the workspace.

Planning, changes and handover
We coordinate containment, outlets, data and lighting with the project team so the installation follows the agreed layout. Equipment schedules and specialist requirements should be shared early to avoid gaps in scope.
Where changes are discovered or requested, we explain the effect on the installation and programme. Completed electrical work is inspected and tested, with appropriate certification and relevant records for your team.

How we plan for your business’s future
Before deciding the layout, we ask about staffing, equipment, working patterns and likely changes to the building. This helps us identify practical options for future expansion: accessible containment, sensible spare space, flexible outlets and lighting that suits a changing workspace.
We explain the costs and limitations of these options. Spare ways in a distribution board do not automatically provide spare electrical supply capacity; both the internal installation and incoming supply need consideration. Future-proofing is planned around your needs, rather than adding equipment without a purpose.
